This one-owner 1951 eighteen-foot Chris-Craft Riviera has arrived in the shop for a comprehensive preservation.
The hull was professionally fiberglassed with multiple layers of matte from stem to stern stern and to the top of the waterline inside and out, and presents zero evidence of any degradation anywhere. That said, and consistent with her owner's wishes, we will not touch any of it.
I hope you will pay particular attention to our procedure for slowly and carefully rolling engines that arrive here and have not been run for more than one year. I do not own any Marvel Mystery Oil, but should, given how much of it we use in the shop.
Stripping her finishes and then working through the hull's exterior searching for loose bungs and screws begins on Monday.
